Peonies – Gongbi on rice paper:
Peonies are called “Queen of Flowers” inChina. They symbolize Wealth and Prosperity in Chinese culture, also because their breathtaking large flowers, they are most popular subject in Chinese paintings. Gongbi paintings are created using fine ink contour lines and colors built layer upon layer. Gongbi/watercolor artist Sirun Guan will guide students step-by-step on this beautiful Gongbi painting. From start to finish, this painting will take up to 6 sessions, with 2-hour each. At the end of the classes, students will gain a basic knowledge and an initial list of tools on Gongbi painting – this unique art painting form:
- Gongbi painting supplies and layout
- Ink contour lines
- How to paint leaves and flowers
- How to paint branches
- How to paint background
Each student will have a finished painting just like this one!
